Picnics, Pools, & 9 Roses
Friday, October 8th, the day after we got married was a day full of relaxing and Vietnamese food!
The
Picnic

Keeping in the vein of celebrating our relationship as we got married, we returned to City Park for our picnic, but this time, with Bahn Mis*! And not just any Bahn Mis... but ones from Dong Phuonng, the best in the city!

*Bahn Mis are a Vietnamese sandwich, similar to a po-boy, and Michael introduced Olivia to them on their first date!

Beautiful weather AND people!
The
Pool
Olivia's family was staying at The Roosevelt hotel, which fortunately had a pool, and being October in New Orleans, it was perfect swimming weather! We headed there post picnic, and all enjoyed some swimming, hot tubbing, and poolside drinks! And Olivia only spilled BOTH of our pina coladas, the virgin and the none-virgin one...
Siblings Swimming!

9 Roses

The last event of the day was a trip to 9 Roses, a great Vietnamese restaurant that Michael has been going to with his family since he was a child. We, as per usual, had an ABUNDANCE of food, a delicious sampling of spring rolls, soups, clay pot catfish, watercress, salads, and other dishes! And even though they couldn't join, Mamere and Boompa wanted to make sure to treat us all to one of their favorite places!

We all were so absorbed in the food, we didn't really take any photos! Fortunately, Marc had a toast (literally and figuratively) planned, so we at least got a couple photos around that. He also made us a... "drink" of his, which was... neat.
No alcohol, just... lots of terrible fake sweeteners.
